Business User Certification Assessment

Here are a few things to know before you get started. Having experience in converting Excels to APIs on Coherent Spark is essential for a Coherent Spark Certified Business User. Please go through the training materials and practice using Coherent Spark before taking the assessment.

It’s great to see you invest in yourself to become a Coherent Spark Certified Business User. Nice to have you joining the Coherent Spark user community!

Coherent Spark is our no-code solution that instantly converts your spreadsheet business logic – such as rules, calculations, or data models of any complexity – into ready-to-use APIs. With Coherent Spark, building business software is now as easy as creating an Excel worksheet.  

Coherent Spark is the best way for Business users to work with IT and communicate requirements with the IT team. You can leverage the existing Excel models to build business software without learning how to code. After configuring and uploading Excel models to the platform, Coherent Spark generates APIs that take the user's input and calculates corresponding outputs based on the functions set up in the Excel files. Then, IT can take over from there, using the APIs to integrate your logic into their software development. 

Typical business user roles include Business Analysts, Financial Analysts, Fund Managers, Actuaries, Project Managers, Product Managers, Research Analysts, and other business roles. 

Through acquiring the knowledge and skills to successfully use Coherent Spark, you can earn your organization’s trust as the go-to person on your team for creating Coherent Spark services. The official certificate will also increase your career growth opportunities and lead the new way for your organization to work together to create business products. 

Once you pass the assessment, you will officially be a Coherent Spark Certified Business User. You'll also be able to showcase your credentials to others in your organization or share it on social media channels like LinkedIn. 

About the Assessment

In order to determine a candidate's skill as a possible Coherent Spark Business User, an online certification assessment will be conducted and will evaluate the candidate's knowledge of Coherent Spark.

Assessment format: 17 multiple choice/multiple-select questions
Time allotted: Up to 60 Minutes
Passing score: 85% (at least 15 of 17 questions correct)
Retake policy: If you fail the assessment, don't worry, you can retake it. We'll provide feedback on the areas you need to revisit based on the questions you didn't pass. Please note that the questions may be different from the previous test as we randomly select questions from a question bank.
Assessment delivery method: Online
Prerequisites: While there are no formal prerequisites, it is strongly suggested that you take the relevant courses to prepare for the assessment.

We have plenty of resources available within our courses, including readings, exercises, and practice questions. We also encourage you to take advantage of the User Guide available on Coherent Spark.

Once you login to Spark, click on your initials on the head menu, then go to the User Guide. You can either follow the navigation menu on the left to browse the content or use the search function in the top right corner to find a specific topic. 

FAQ

Q1: How long does it take to study for the assessment?
A1: Based on your level of experience, the preparation time varies. We suggest that new Coherent Spark Business Users set aside at least 2-5 hours to go through the certification path, including the practice activities.

Q2: Where can I see my assessment score?
A2: Once you complete the assessment, your assessment score will appear on-screen.
Please remember to take a screenshot of your score report before exiting your assessment.

Q3: Can I use a tablet or other device to prepare and earn a credential?
A3: The courses and assessments can be accessible on tablets, smartphones and/or other devices.

Q4: How do I add my credentials to LinkedIn?
A4: Once you pass the assessment, you will receive an email with a link to download your certificate. You can click on the email link to add the certificate to your Linkedin. Alternatively, you can go to your Profile page and add it to Linkedin manually.

NOTE: If you don’t see an email in your inbox, please make sure to check your spam, junk and Others folder. If you still haven’t received an email containing your assessment results, you can go back to view your results on your profile page.

Q5: What if I did not receive an email with my certificate?
A5: Sometimes due to firewall issues, emails get blocked or are sent to your junk or spam folder. In any case, feel free to reach out to campus@coherent.global for help.

Q6: When will my certification expire?

The certificate will be valid for 12 months from the certification date as we will add more features and enhancements to Coherent Spark over the next 12 months. To retain your certification, you will need to  re-take the revised version of the exam. Some courses may also be updated to reflect the new Spark features, so please make sure to go through them once more before a re-attempt.

To check your certification expiration date, please follow the measures below:

1. Log on to Coherent Campus
2. Select the profile image icon located in the top right corner
3. Click on “My Profile” link
4. Go to Registrations and locate your certificate. Under the Certification Expiration column, check the expiration date on the certificate.
